What goes up …

Woke up to find a row of lorries outside my home instead of the usual Sunday buses.

The reason being that the crane that has helped build the new Sidcup Fold project near Sidcup Station is coming down.

Walking back saw two sections apart and joked on Twitter that it reminded me of that chase scene in Casino Royale with Sebastian Foucan & Daniel Craig.

Well as I suggested in my title what goes up must eventually come down.

News – interested to read that the old swimming pool/baths in Station Road have finally been sold at auction this week for £750,000 to an unknown buyer – £100,000 more than expected.

Google Ranks Sidcup

First thanks to the visitors for checking out this newer site which is sort of adjacent to my Welcome To Sidcup site. On there you will see small left square Adsense adverts, majority aren’t about the town but businesses elsewhere in Kent.

So while clearing my backlog of News Shopper local papers, I came across an item dated 23rd November 2011 titled Google ranks town’s online businesses as among the healthiest in the UK.

The item opens “online growth for business in Sidcup is among the best in the UK. Sidcup was ranked 11th by search giant Google with the town’s firms increasing their online presence by 25.9 per cent in the past year.”  Taken from “a shortlist of 700 towns with the highest online economic activity .. ranked in terms of the percentage increase of small and medium-sized businesses using Google‘s advertising service Adwords.”

So next time guys & gals when you advertise remember my little old town site.
